Equipment Prices

Well, now that we have 7 members (at last review), I'll repost. :)

After not playing P&P for many years, and only recently restarted up, I
have come to the conclusion that the prices in P&P are really whacked.
I am currently in the process of "borrowing" (stealing :) the prices
from GURPS, with some Harn stuff thrown in.  The end result is something
at least a little more consistent.  Plus I get the advantage of using
the GURPS vehicles to design some seacraft for my players (the bit on
ships in Heros was pretty skimpy).

However, I may have to tweak the prices a bit.  While a Greatsword now
goes for 9SC, armor is almost too cheap (I used $1 GURPS = 1BB).  And to
validate the really cheap prices for axes and maces I picked up the
GURPS concept of 1 turn to ready after use.
