Indeed we've tried to go to the Lower world but I feel that the time & space are different from one world to another. This can explain the fact that dvalinn & elf seems to be "immortal" from a human point of view. The Upper world is not a place to stay for Middle world creatures, a pass through is possible but nothing more.
This could leave space for special explanations to special phenomenons.
What do you think of that ?
