No, I didn't ask Richard Snider about this particular spell, or at least
didn't get an answer. In my games I treated it as a lower BMC Sleep Mist
effect for which touch is required.
However, the comment stating that the duration and MDV limit listed in Slime
belong to Sleep Touch is (now that it is brought to my attention) probably
correct.
