You subtract ELx2 I thought.  So with only EL6 applicable to the combat
roll, you subtract 12 (instead of the pretty god-awful 24 at full power!).

I have no problem with increased wapon skill allowing for better hits, but I
think the Deadly hit mechanism needs to be tweaked a bit.  At high end
characters it can get petty gross.
