[PnP] Convocation

I forgot to add that a creature's armor counted as a "resistance" and was
also factored in by subtracting from the opposing creature's AEDP before it
was figured in. I think I also calculated "MEDP" (maximum estimated damage
per phase" to allow me to decide when to tweak the results if, for example,
the normal AEDP could not get through the resistance, but the maximum could.

This sort of numerical monkey work cries out for an excel sheet (which I did
not have at the time, which is whey I did not work on it much more then in
theory back then).

Yes, made CDF factor more of the other items.
A while back in 84-86 or so I tried to tweak the CDF formula. I think I
tried factoring in OCV and DCV as a part of the mix as well.
I once tried to figure a basic "Average Estimated Damage per Phase" (AEDP)
based on the average human "creature" stats -- basically calculated the
average normal damage for the creature, times the percentage that a normal
hit could be gained. Did the same for severe and deadly hits (factoring in
0 for miss and shield hits). Once I had the AEDP I had a "macro factor"
that could be used for mass combat purposes. I forget what the AEDP was for
normal humans.
Using AEDP was pretty simple: If Creature A has 30 AHP and an AEDP of 10,
while creature B has 15 AHP and an AEDP of 2, simply use the highest
AEDP:AHP difference as the "timeframe". At 30 AHP for "A" and 2 AEDP for
"B" the timeframe is 15 phases. If takes 2 phases for creature "A"'s AEDP
to eliminate one creature "B", so in rough effect, 15 phases/2 means that
creature "A" is 7.5 times tougher then "creature "B".
Once you figured out the stats for a normal man (the "norm"), you used
DOUBLE the toughness rating as the CDF (since normal man vs normal man is
equal to 1)
By actually factoring in the combat table high DCV creatures actually become
properly worth more, since they are harder to disable. Likewise, huge
easily damaged creatures get marked down since even Joe Average can get some
dings on them.
The AHP and AEDP could at a future point be used for a Macro combat system.

If I understand you, the suggestion is to minimize the CDF value of hit
points and increase the impact of magic, poison, etc. Correct? We could
change the AHP divisor to 15 or 20 and eliminate the MEL / BL divisor.
Whatcha think?
