That's actually a good call. When I type up my notes (and when I hit my
players up), I'll charge DOUBLE if you have not spent at least a season
in the location building up supplies.

In a low tech society there are a lot of craftsmen storing wood for
seasoning. Craftsmen living in the same place year after year can save
some money by getting green wood and letting it season until it is
ready. It should cost a bit of a premium, but seasoned logs and planks
of local varieties of wood should be available for purchase from
carpenters, woodwrights, et cetera. Adventurers should easily be able to
afford the premium and will have wood ready to use.
To a lesser extent other raw materials may be available for a premium.
Example: The local forge may have bought several years supply of iron
ore and will be willing to sell some for twice the cost per pound that
they paid for it.
Of course this is less likely to happen in some areas...particularly far
from civilization.
