This week's installment #8 is on Naval Movement.
This file might be a bit more controversial than the others.
In order to illustrate the thought process to get to the
end results I first publish known earth based facts on
Wind and such. These Wind facts include the scale of
winds used in storm activity. These facts can be used to
base more of your data sets and information. Then I
give earth based facts related to movement. These facts
are not mine but given from books and many of th ewebsites
I've done research on. These 28 facts help to create
the data set I use in the final sections.

I then present a rough version of sailing in the game.
This is a sketch step by step suggestive section on how
to design your game. It is the 4 basic core steps I've
found in many games and research sites.

The final section are the actual game charts which using
the above data I form as best as I could. Thanks to the
basic system I believe bourton came up with years ago
in the sailing article as a basis as well. First i deal
with Rowing (simple and typical rowing speeds), speed bursts
(based on trireme and other data), speed modifiers (optional
section that I came up with based on the data sets).

Then I give a section on sailing navigation. It includes
simple sailing speeds, wind type, wind speds for to figure
out current weather situations. The section on drifting
was mostly Richard's work but I did touch on some points.

This document COULD be modified at the end of the project
based on the last 2 things I'm working on (well have
been trying to work on :)).

    Enjoy!
