Here is what i propose

1.9.8 Dodge

Dodge is the ability to avoid being hit in combat or magic combat.

Dodging replace any other action, you can’t dodge and fight in the same
phase, it takes the whole phase.

The dodge chance is :

Basic Dodge value + skills – best ennemy Basic dodge value/2

*Basic Dodge value = (3xA + 2xD + CELx10)/4 %

Use the enemy values from those able + willing +planning to hit you this
phase.

You can use your melee weapon to improve the dodge value, add EL/5 but then
weapon takes 1d3 hits.

Missile: chance/ 2. When at least 1 enemy is using a missile weapon. Will
only dodge ONE shooter..

Magic: chance / 3. When a enemy is clearly using visible offensive magic.
Can only avoid ONE spell per phase.

Roll D100 and apply the following:

Test

Result

tCS

All attack dodged, defensive mode, DV+40

tNS

The rolled D100/10 attack are dodged but not the critical hits, defensive
mode, VD+20

tPS

No attack dodged, defensive mode, VD+10

tNF

No attack dodged, neutral mode, VD+5

tCF

No attack dodged, neutral mode, VD-20

Table shows hom many attacks are dodged and what is the combat mode.

Apply those for the current phase only.

Actually, shield IS mentioned, lower down, as the only action that may be
taken while dodging.

If you look at the chart, the higher the unmodified AV of the armor, the
less you dodge. Same with Attacker DV. The better his dexterity and agility,
the less you can dodge, as he's better at compensating for your movement
with some of his own.

Higher raw AV means heavier and more restrictive armor. Shields don't
restrict the whole body range of motion, just the one arm, and so aren't
part of dodging, pro or con.

So: wear a shield and remember to Block with it as well as Dodge.

>Why when you dodge you take into account just the AV of the armor you wear
and not the shield you may have in your hand?

>In fact, rules state that the total value that is dodged is AV of armor
worn plus dodge value of your adversary.no mention of the shield
