oops - it turns out that Hasbro (not Mattel) owned the copyright, and they still represent the brands of Avalon Hill & D&D, among other game companies. Whether they re-sold it, idk, but I sent a query.

Librarians might be able to send you to
resources to find artists, especially as you have both
 initials & a name.

I would just like to know who currently
holds the copyright for P&P (an old issue, sorry, but it
concerns me). I should go to Librarians also - lol. I've
heard/been told that Mattel sold it & I only found the
original copyright issuance, not any transfers, even to
Mattel. I need to research the company's structure &
staff to find out who to ask.

  You could try contacting Winchell
 Chung
and see if he has any contact info.?
 Winchell Chung has
a website (more famous for Ogre than
 P&P) http://projectrho.com/

Probably has his contact info, at
  least.

It doesn?t hurt to ask him.
