sc> Yet another good argument for updating the naval tech. I find that
sc> caravels work well as the apex of naval development, seeing that if
sc> Columbus could make it from Portugal to the Dominican Republic in
sc> one, it should suffice for these long naval voyages. Then again,
sc> after a couple of years, the Lemasans might have invested in a
sc> carrack or two, but that should be the 'top of the line'.

The history channel tuesday had at 10pm EST GREAT SHIPs. In that
episode they mainly talked about galleons. But the first 20
or so covered everything from trienes, cogs, carracks (FUNNY
looking ships) to the galleons. They also have it on tap and
sell it. They even covered some of the basic stats like crew
        and size dimensions.

sc> So far, I've only had 'behind the scenes' interference from the
sc> gods. I really dislike having the gods show up and interact directly
sc> with the characters. I've had too many bad AD&D experiences with that
sc> sort of thing. (Once, my party ran into Set. And killed him (DM was
sc> too literal, using the Deities and Demigods book). The DM backpedaled
sc> quickly,"Oh, that wasn't really Set, just his High priest". Then there
sc> was the time Asmodeus showed up and threatened us to do something for
sc> him. Takes away the mystery.) If anyone out there has the
sc> Priesthood and the Priestly Magic articles and can fax them to me, I'd
sc> be forever greatful. I can also fax you the Sea of Tears article, the
sc> "deadliest fighters"? and Doom Manor.
sc> >Why else would Abaddon be the

That's what I've done..when my players advance I might take
them to the lower or upper world for a mini adventure. But
this is technically their first experience with it on the
most part. My old players I've had some god campaigns but
more indirect 'puppet' stuff. It leads to more confusino
which is fun for players and GMs to cause...

sc> Let's say that Cuba was suddenly overthrown by insects (Cuba, the
sc> son of the Soviet Union -- Mab, the son of Kototh, close enough).
sc> Wouldn't you think that the other nations of the world would take
sc> notice? Even the United States (Metatron?) might decide to eliminate
sc> these insects (the party) before they become a threat. You naver can
sc> tell what a bug will do. "One minute they're worshipping you and
sc> paying you praises, next they're summoning demons." It's not
sc> entirely implausible. (Oh, and please don't make comment about the
sc> politics. I chose it for instant recognition, not actual world views
 sc> and politics.)

Very good analogy though that I even used (similar) at one
        time or another...

As to those articles the sea of tears I have from the guy
in the netherlands (hard to remeber his name) but he
is on the player list. We talked over the early summer
months about it. He sent me it and I did the encounter
program for him. But since then I've not heard anything
from him. In those mailings the priesthood is in there.
Only problem is they are extremly small. I could
copy them but not sure of the quality. Next month
I should have a scanner and I could scan it into files
and email them to you if I can? Where are you located?
I'd love those fighter and doom manor info though.
