You might consider re-reading the text, then. Both V1 and V2 use the terms "hide invisibly" and "hidden".

I can hide invisibly right now, and I am but a mere human. In fact, I am invisible to my wife this very moment. Why? Because there is a wall interposed between us and she has her nose in a book. (Looks uncomfortable 😝). I can even look around the corner and see her and she won't even notice I stick out my tongue at her. I've made my success roll. Or...OUCH!...she threw her shoe at me! I failed my roll.

I am merely hidden, but even though I use the word 'invisible', it doesn't mean I am actually invisible...simply unseen.

> The books say "invisible", not "hidden". And, apparently, on BOTH version, so I'm going to assume that is what was meant.
