Theres so many spells and NMIs that its hard to figure out one good plan.  It
really
just depends on what character you try for.  As to Maxs the Max ELs for spells
is pretty
hard to get to but I never thought bout the Max since only a few pcs ever got
there.

I'm one that tends to play low ball so never try to make super bogus guys.  I
mean
if you try hard enough a natrual magician and other 'benefits' like
supernatural abilities
can make pretty advanced guys but I never really did it on purpose.

I have been away from the game for a bit ........ bit more than a bit
actually. In any case, I am glad so many people are still interested in
my "baby" and expanding its scope with fine additions.
   This being the case, I am available at abnaric at hotmail.com if anyone
would like to correspond, ask questions, etc. It will be my pleasure to
reply and, hopefully, be of service.
   Secondarily, I am considering a return to the battlefield in the near
future, i.e a rebirth of the P&P Phoenix. If anyone has any comments or
